The assignment initially started with a consulting phase, during which challenges and resulting requirements were discussed in detail. It was also the moment for us to get to know the world of ethical supply chains and concepts used better. Through joint workshops and virtual collaboration, we defined user personas, designed an appropriate user experience with relevant interfaces and prepared the initial backlog.
It was also agreed that the project would use a phased approach with focus of the first 3 months on the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) delivery for a single product (cocoa), before going into additional releases. According to Agile rules, demo of the progress was demonstrated at the end of every sprint, providing a regular insight for FLOCERT and a resulting feedback loop.
Now, several major milestones have already been accomplished and the initial solution has significantly grown to, for instance, include additional supply chain certification schemes or further products like bananas and cotton. It is being rolled out to FLOCERT’s customers all over the world with scalability and performance backed up with cloud infrastructure capabilities. The project is on-going and is most likely to keep changing the world of ethical supply chains for the years to come.
